The Word Search playbook

Make Word Search your next activity in the game library. Find every listed word in a 10×10 grid. Look at what changes after your first action. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Each board contains eight target words from the included English word list.

One thing to notice as you play

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your objective

Find every listed word in a 10×10 grid. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Keep the controls in easy reach.

Making your moves

  1. Select the first and last letter of a straight word.
  2. Words can run horizontally, vertically or diagonally, in either direction.
  3. Find all eight targets.
  4. New puzzle shuffles again.

Making selections and moves

Tap or click endpoints. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.

Follow the example

Selecting the endpoints in reverse order also finds the same word. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Check the stated objective.

Where a round can go wrong

Words cannot turn corners. Check the rule before repeating the action. Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow.
